Egnyte Upload links are a great way for people outside of Randolph to upload content to a specific shared folder without being able to see the current contents of that folder.  This solution is helpful, for example, when you need to solicit for information from a vendor but you don't want them to see other submissions from other vendors.

To Create an Upload Link

  1. Login to Engyte online  (https://randolphusa.egnyte.com/)
  2. Navigate to an existing Shared folder where the uploaded files should be stored
  3. Click the Share option
  4. from the drop-down menu, Select Request Files from Others

You have two options for dispatching the upload link:

  • use Get Link to copy the link and paste it into another place (social media, your company's website, attach to email reply, etc.).
This option is recommended if you need to collect files from a lot of people, send the link through a chat client, or you aren't sure who will respond on the link (e.g., customer suggestion boxes, resume uploads...), select the Get Link button, the link will be shown, and you can copy it to your clipboard and paste it anywhere.

  • Use Email Link to begin sending the link right from Egnyte after you specify your recipients.
Use this option when you only need to send the link to a handful of recipients, Email Link may be the easier option. Simply enter the email addresses of the people who need to upload a file, enter a message if desired, and click Send.

For Example:

Because recipients cannot view the contents already in this Shared Folder, with may files, you may loose track of which file(s) were uploaded by whom.  Check the option Create separate folder for files received from each person to insure each uploaders contents are separated to sub-folders that you can review an move to any other folder as needed.

When the recipient visits the link you've provided, a disclaimer confirmation page will appear.

They shall be asked to enter their Name, Email Address and (optionally) Company Name.

After pressing continue, the recipient is presented a page to drop files into your shared folder.

The recipient needs to Click the Send these files button after attaching their file(s).
