When working from the laser engraving workstations in the Assembly area, if an Order's custom engraving message does not load as expected then follow these instructions:



  1. Close and Exit the SymbolWriter Pro application.  The application should not be running.

  2. Remove all prior order messages by purging your download folder.
    Go into your Downloads folder, and Delete all files EXCEPT for the file "EngravingTemplate.SW7"

  3. Launch/Open the SymbolWriter Pro Application

  4. Using the barcode reader, Scan the Order Number from the Order Packing List
    (a.k.a. Custom Engraving Work Order)

  5. CLICK on "Load into SymbolWriter Pro"



Errors primarily occur loading the engraving files after the computer workstation is used for software or system updates, launching other applications or performing other work activities.  The SymbolWriter Pro software becomes unsynchronized and does not expect an input document.  The above instructions must be followed to setup/resync the applications for engraving.  To minimize disruption to work, avoid using the computer workstation for activities other than engraving.
